is a maker of Carbon Fiber (CF) grips as well as exotic leather holsters and grips for select hand guns. Located in Atlanta, GA, we use American made materials from American suppliers. Designer Grips are made of genuine Carbon Fiber or a Carbon Fiber / Kevlar weave. Or in the case of leather, genuine legally harvested exotic hides. We do not use faux fabrics and try to pass them off as the real thing. Our CF grips are Carbon Fiber filled to give them strength, and stress areas, such as screw holes, are reinforced with Kevlar for additional strength unless otherwise noted. What IS CARBON FIBER??

Carbon Fiber is a super strong, light weight material made of thin strands of carbon. The individual strands are thinner than a human hair, yet it is five times stronger that steel, twice as stiff, and only about one third the weight. These individual fibers are woven together into strands and the strands into sheets. The strands of Fiber typically have 3000 to 5000 individual Carbon Fibers. A Little Background

I purchased Designer Grips from the original owner in mid 2013. I had been making Stingray grips and holsters for Seecamp pistols for several years and thought it would be a good fit and allow me to expand my business. As many of you know I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2013, shortly after buying Designer Grips. I have Metastatic Melanoma in my arm and lungs. Complications with the test study drugs lead to other issues and in January of 2014 my colon ruptured in 5 places, leading to an emergency colostomy. I spent the first two months of 2014 in Emory hospital and a good portion of the remainder of the year in bed at home with in-home nursing care. (Not much grips making going on.) Once I recuperated from a variety of complications, I was finally able to get both of my hips replaced. That took place in the first half of 2015.
So I'm finally back on my feet, able to stand up straight and walk without a walker or cane. I'm still a little wobbly but I'm very happy to be back in my workshop making my holsters and grips.
Early in 2015 I decided I would like to wear a cancer "awareness" bracelet. Almost everything out there is either the plain rubber strap type or something built more with ladies in mind. Nothing remotely masculine. So I decided to make my own. Please see my cancer awareness bracelet page if you or a loved one has cancer and you would like to show your support.
I appreciate all of the kind words and wishes that have been sent to me this past year. Your stories and prayers have been very uplifting for me and my family and I appreciate them more than I can put into words.
